Every one of us has tiny holes on our skin known as pores. We have two kinds of pores: first discharges the body’s nourishing oil called sebum; another discharges sweat. An individual’s pores might be pretty much recognizable, relying upon their skin type. Generally, oil releasing pores tend to look enlarged for people who have extremely oily skin. Oil and dirt clog your pores, making them appear larger. Accumulation of dead skin at the bottom of pores causes them to grow larger. Many of us have a habit of squeezing pimples and blackheads, which scar your skin beginning to enlarged pores.

One-liners on what dermatologist says on the main reasons for enlarged pores:-

• Excessive secretion of sebum from the sebaceous glands results in clogging of the pores.
• Reduced flexibility of skin around the pores enlarges the pores.
• When pores at the end of an increased hair follicle volume get clogged.

If you are worried thinking of a way to reduce those large pores so that the skin of your beautiful face can look appealing, let me be honest with you, you cannot get rid of large pores. But wait!!! There are means to diminish their appearance and avoid causes that may enlarge your pores.

Effective measures to diminish enlarged pores

Avoid oil-based products

If you have oily skin, immediately stop using all oil-based skin products to avoid additional oil getting into the pores and enlarge your pores further. Switch to water-based skin products, which will not only help you dodge extra oil but also to cleanse your pores of the excessive oil secreted by sebaceous glands. Pores get enlarged when they are clogged; use non-comedogenic products for skincare; these products do not clog your pores.

Wash your face two times a day

Washing your face ensures the removal of dirt and extra oil. As we have mentioned earlier, excessive oil can clog your pores as well as oily skin makes your pores more visible. Cleaning your face both morning and evening will help you unclog your pores and remove excess oil. Always wash your face with a non-comedogenic face wash. Use warm water to cleanse your skin. Gently clean your skin while washing, scrubbing, and rubbing can cause inflammation and make your pores more prominent.

Gel-based face cleanser

Another excellent option for skin cleansing is a gel-based face cleanser. Where a moisturizer has a high chance to leave traces of moisturizer in pores and increase oil, a gel-based cleanser wash off the oil and diminish the visibility of pores.

Toners to cleanse pores

Use natural toners to deep cleanse your skin; natural toners help to remove dirt, oil, and dead skin cells. But if you have skin prone to acnes, toners can inflame your skin. Use apple cider vinegar and water to get a homemade toner. Mix one-third apple cider vinegar and two-third of water. Use cotton to soak the toner and gently clean your skin. Apply a light moisturizer after cleansing your skin.

Use natural exfoliate

The use of exfoliating products twice a week helps to clean clogged-up oil, dirt, and, more importantly, dead skin cells. Buy any natural exfoliating product that contains salicylic acid, which helps to extract residue of dead skin cells and oil from the pores. Make a natural exfoliate using baking soda at home. Mix water and baking soda to create a thin paste, wet your face slightly, and apply this paste to massage your face gently. Rinse your thoroughly water three minutes. Do this once every week; it will help you decrease the appearance of pores.

Avoid direct sunlight

We know sun rays can dull our skin, but it also dries your skin, and just like oily skin, dry skin can make pores more visible. Use sunscreen with an SPF 30 or above to prevent direct sun rays. Wearing sunscreen will help avoid dry skin and reduce the formation of dead skin cells.

Keep your skin healthy

Eating a well-balanced diet of protein, complex carbohydrates, healthy fats, and vitamin & minerals, drinking enough water, and exercising every morning promote overall health. It will help to have healthy skin and reduce problems like dull & dry skin. It may also help to keep your skin flexibility intact.
